Funkologist are Jase, Pete, Nicky, Simon and Jim. They met at a Cardiff bus-stop on an inauspicious rainy day in Autumn 2010. Jase was stood at the front of the queue listening to his i-Pod. Pete, stood behind him, heard the tinny sound from his headphones and instantly recognised the unmistakeable boogie riff from Disco Inferno - he started tapping his foot. Nicky walked past on his way to university, heard the funky groove coming through and couldt help himself - he let out a monster high seriously loud Michael Jackson style shriek. Simon cycled past, felt those boogie rhythms and was so excited he jumped from his bike, landing right on the bus-stop roof and started tap-dancing. Then Jim just happened to be walking by with his guitar - he was instantly all over it, before he knew what had happened, he was lying on his back in the middle of the road playing a Hendrix style guitar solo - with his teeth.
